Day 13

It's been a while. Time to get back at it.

This song has come from two conversations I've had recently.

Day 11

My brother, Mirko, and I wrote this song together. He wrote most of it, including my verse. The end is the best part, when our mom joins in. Home

Tiny tiny hiatus, kind of.

Traveling has made Una canción de cada día difficult. I never know when I'll have access to a guitar or internet, and so I may just have to post a bunch of songs at once, or make up for it with one glorious or not so glorious song. Forgive me, because I've forgiven myself.

I am sitting outside of a coffee shop in Boulder. Boulder has proven itself to be so overwhelmingly Bouldery, the dirty hippies next to me discussing digeridoos and "really intense weed that came straight from the earth." It's so strange when you meet the people who are exactly who you'd expect to meet.

The hippies have just left. One of them offered me "a nug for the road." I said I was fine, thank you.

One Week Anniversary + Ending date

I have successfully written a song a day for a week. (except for that one day I didn't write a song BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN I'M BACK ON THE HORSE).

So I'm setting an ending date for this project. I will do this through New Year's Eve. December 31 will be my last song of the day, at least in this batch. I wish I had a cookie. The word batch reminds me of cookies.

It would be wonderfully helpful if anyone reading and listening would tell me which songs they consider worth pursuing further. Most of these songs have been written and recorded in an hour or two, and if some of them have potential to be something more than a song of the day, I'd like to know. Leave comments telling me what I'm doing right and wrong if you'd like. Or email me. Or write me a letter.

To anyone who has been listening this past week, thank you so much. It truly means a lot to me.

46 songs to go.

Day 7 potatoes

Today's song is a hidden treasure.

This is a picture of some potatoes.

BONUS SONGS

I'm posting some extra songs I have so I can't take a day off.

I wrote this one in the past hour
Smoker

These two were written about five years ago. I added a few lyrics to
Gravity
And rewrote the lyrics to this really late one night (which will be completely changed again one day because, like all of these songs, they are too over the top)
Untitled song

Dos!

Edit: Here's the first recorded version, unfinished, but the words are a bit clearer.

Awful recording of the beautiful parts my friends have added to this song. I actually wrote this one last week. (that's not cheating.) Julia is incredible at writing piano parts to my off-rhythm nonsense. Elizabeth adds her pre-classical music touch with the recorder (what was that kind of music called?) and Calah has a beautiful voice. I hope they can help me rise out of the shit parts of my songwriting by the end of this.

Day 1

Day one has ended with a first song, roughly written and roughly recorded this afternoon.

I want to be a bum.

(the guitar is terrrrrrrrible, but this is all about learning)
